Cát Bà, located to the west of Hạ Long Bay and off the coast of Hải Phòng city, is famous for its poetic beauty, fishing villages, charming small beaches, and National Park - one of the most important biosphere reserves in Northern Vietnam. The island’s National Park is home to many rare plants and animals, such as the Cát Bà langur, one of the rarest primates in the world.
Recognizing the potential of Cát Bà Island, Sun Group decided to invest and transform the island with grand, high-class projects, the most important of which is the Cát Bà Cable Car project.

To create a green tourism space with smoke-free transportation and ensure convenient connections between tourist spots, the Cát Bà cable car was built with the most advanced technology. Official information shared that the construction only took place in areas outside the island, far from the biosphere reserve.
The cable car not only protects the environment but also offers visitors wonderful experiences, saving time and providing convenient transportation. Clearly, the most enticing aspect for tourists is the unique experience of enjoying a natural masterpiece from an ideal height on the cable car.
The Cát Bà cable car is a total of 21 km long, with 5 main stations connecting from Cát Hải Island to the center of Cát Bà, expected to be completed in 18 months. Among them, the first cable car route connecting Cát Hải Island - Phù Long will be the largest cable car in the world with a capacity of 5,500 passengers per hour.
With dedication to this project, the project’s investor - Sun Group - has invited the best international experts and professional engineers to consult and implement to ensure the success of the project. Additionally, Sun Group always ensures safety and quality for all cable car routes by using sturdy cabins and internationally rated cables.

The Cát Bà Cable Car project is part of the overall plan for the 5-star Cát Bà - Hải Phòng resort project, promising to bring wonderful experiences and the most complete enjoyment for every visitor coming here.
Besides the Guinness World Record-holding Bà Nà Hills Cable Car (Đà Nẵng), Sun Group has also been very successful with other cable car projects such as the Queen Cable Car (Hạ Long), Hòn Thơm Cable Car (Phú Quốc), and Bà Đen Mountain Cable Car (Tây Ninh)...
Previously, due to the long travel time from Hanoi and inconvenient transportation, the number of international tourists was quite modest. However, with the inauguration of the Cát Bà cable car, travel time has been reduced and it offers a completely new experience. Additionally, Cát Bà will soon become the “star of the North” in domestic tourism with many international standard resort projects in the near future.
When visiting Cát Bà, tourists can relax on some small sandy beaches. During summer weekends, it can be crowded with domestic tourists, so you might want to stay there on other days of the week. Cát Bà is not the top destination for beachgoers as the beaches here are not as wide as those in Nha Trang, Đà Nẵng, Phan Thiết, or Phú Quốc. However, the convenience here is that you can explore mountains and forests and swim in the sea all in one day because Cát Bà has it all!
Cát Bà National Park is one of the most famous names for forest lovers with many rare species of plants and animals, offering you day hikes to explore the forest and enjoy the beautiful scenery when you are on top of Ngự Lâm peak.
After a day of hiking and walking in the forest, you can relax on the beach and swim in the clear blue water, then enjoy fresh seafood. These are the most special and interesting things that a trip to Cát Bà can bring you.
Some small villages on the Cát Bà archipelago can be very interesting to visit and learn about local life. You can also cycle around Việt Hải village near Cát Bà National Park to explore the surroundings.
