The journey from Hanoi to Halong Bay takes approximately 2.5 to 4 hours by car, including a 30-minute rest stop along the way. The distance between Hanoi and Halong Bay is around 160 kilometers (about 100 miles). During the drive, you’ll pass through several towns, and the speed limit may vary, resulting in the longer travel time. Our vehicles typically pick up passengers from hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter around 8:00 - 8:30 AM, and we arrive at Tuần Châu Port around 12:00 - 12:30 PM

We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. If you’re not in Hanoi, we’ll meet you at the Hanoi Opera House around 08:15 - 08:40 AM. Our guide will hold a sign with your name for easy identification. Please provide us with your contact phone number so we can assist you better. If you’ve arranged private transportation, we can pick you up wherever you prefer, but the cost may be higher.

Typically, there are around 20 to 35 people on our cruise, but since it’s a group tour, the group size isn’t fixed. The maximum for the journey is 48 people.

Typically, we use different vehicles, so the number of passengers on each vehicle varies. For instance: 16-seat vehicles usually carry 8 to 12 passengers. 29-seat vehicles accommodate 12 to 20 passengers. 35-seat vehicles can hold 15 to 24 passengers. When your guide or driver picks you up for the day trip to Halong Bay, they will meet you at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter. They will display your name and confirm that you are the intended passenger for the journey to Halong Bay. We will call you before arriving to ensure you are ready and easily recognizable.

We will not pick you up from Halong City because it would take us time to get there, and we need to ensure timely departure. Therefore, please arrange a transfer from Halong City to Tuan Chau Port using public transportation. There won’t be a separate waiting area there, so we’ll provide you with contact information for our guide to make it easy for you to meet them. Please make sure you have a phone number for us to call you easily. In case you can’t find us or don’t have contact information, ask the staff at the port to call your guide, travel advisor, or our office for better communication. It won’t be difficult to request a free call from some staff or officials working at Tuan Chau Port. Our day trip to Halong Bay will depart around 12:30, but try to arrive earlier to avoid any delays.

If you’re not using our shuttle service and you’ll arrange your own transportation to Halong Bay, you’ll meet our tour guide at Tuần Châu Port. Please be there by 12:30 to ensure you don’t miss the trip. Kindly provide us with your contact phone number or your driver’s number, and save our office/tourist advisory number for better coordination. Before the departure date, please ask us for the contact phone number of the guide. The day trip to Halong Bay will start from Tuần Châu Port around 12:00 - 12:30, and there’s no separate waiting area, so having a contact number is the best way to ensure a smooth pickup.
