Hà Giang

The province’s complex terrain can be divided into three regions: sloping hills, valleys, and high mountain passes with narrow streams to the west; rocky mountains and rivers to the south; and hills and valleys along the Lô River, including the town of Hà Giang, in the lowland area.

Hà Giang, located in the far north of Vietnam, is undoubtedly a fantastic destination for exploring majestic mountain landscapes. It also serves as the country’s northernmost border due to its 270 km-long boundary with Yunnan Province in China1.
The province’s complex terrain can be divided into three regions: sloping hills, valleys, and high mountain passes with narrow streams to the west; rocky mountains and rivers to the south; and hills and valleys along the Lô River, including the town of Hà Giang, in the lowland area. Hà Giang is home to various ethnic minority groups, each contributing to its unique cultural heritage. Like other northern highland regions in Vietnam, the temperature here ranges from 5 to 28°C, making it an ideal destination for travelers. Notably, the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau, recognized by UNESCO as one of the world’s 77 geoparks, is a highlight in Hà Giang.
But that’s not all! The province also boasts enchanting natural caves such as Phượng Thiên Cave, Chui Cave, Tiên Cave, and Nhạn Cave. The best time to visit Hà Giang is during the Lunar New Year (Tết Nguyên Đán), where you can witness diverse traditional customs of the local ethnic minorities, including celebrations of success, rain-invoking rituals, and contests like archery and throwing rice cakes.
When you explore Hà Giang, don’t miss out on its unique cuisine. Try dishes like Mèo chicken, colorful sticky rice, horse meat (known as “thắng cô”), and the flavorful pork stolen armpit. And if you’re planning a trip, Vsunshine Travel will undoubtedly create a memorable and joyful experience for you and your companions
