The average annual temperature is 27 degrees Celsius, making Vĩnh Long a suitable destination year-round. The province is renowned for shrimp and catfish fishing, with the latter being abundant in the coastal waters of Vĩnh Long.

As a province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam, Vĩnh Long experiences two distinct seasons: the rainy season from May to November and the dry season from December to April.

The average annual temperature is 27 degrees Celsius, making Vĩnh Long a suitable destination year-round. The province is renowned for shrimp and catfish fishing, with the latter being abundant in the coastal waters of Vĩnh Long.

With its fertile soil and lush vegetation, Vĩnh Long is an ideal place to cultivate various exotic fruits, including rambutan, longan, and fragrant durian. In the town, the Văn Thánh Miếu Pagoda has recently undergone renovations, and there’s a large complex of three self-built temples.

Moreover, visitors can explore the Vĩnh Long Museum, conveniently located by the river. However, it’s worth noting that while the outdoor areas are always accessible, the buildings themselves rarely open to the public.

Venture into the countryside, and you’ll discover some war relics, including an F-5 fighter jet and a Huey helicopter among other military artifacts. Additionally, for solo travelers without companions nearby, activities can be quite expensive due to the vast area to cover. Unlike bustling city streets, a retreat to An Bình Island is definitely worth considering.

Although one night will give you a taste, two nights will allow you to experience a slower pace of life there. They still create an interesting vacation from the small hotels you’ll encounter in most provincial capitals of the Mekong Delta while homestays are smaller than traditional homestays.

Here, you can easily find the specialties of the Southwestern region at villas, hotels, and restaurants in the area. Additionally, Vĩnh Long has many pagodas and shrines such as Văn Thánh Miếu, Đình Long Thành, and Tiên Châu Pagoda. The Khmer people in Vĩnh Long also celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay.

The purpose of the festival is to bid farewell to the hot season and welcome the rainy season, which is the time to prepare for the extended rice crop in the coming months.
